Allie needs to ensure good inhaler technique (go through with asthma nurse) and also be aware that ‘brown inhaler’ is likely to be Salbutamol which she is prescribed x2 puffs BD . Caution needs to be taken as Salbutamol contains steroids, overuse of which can increase blood pressure. conversely, stopping use suddenly can cause joint paints, nausea or dizziness.

3. How can Allie cut the risk of her pet triggering the Asthma? Allie can avoid build up of cat dander by ensuring bedsheets are changed regularly, not allowing cat into sleeping area and using good handwashing and be sure to hoover regularly
