Introduction to VSP
What is VSP
It's the use of browser-based virtual environments to simulate patients, clients, users and colleagues to develop proficiency capabilities by creating and working through life-like and challenging situations.
In very simple terms, virtual simulation is any simulation that requires a screen. Therefore, virtual simulated placement is a placement that uses simulation and can be accessed via a screen (smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop, VR headset etc.).
Do I need a headset or any equipment?
No, you don't need any specialist equipment.
You can access this VSP using a smartphone, or a tablet, or a laptop or a desktop.
The VSP sits on a webpage, so you need an Internet connection, but you can use any device you prefer
What do I do?
It's really simple, just work through the pages. Each page has a different patient scenario.
Please spend as much time as you feel you need to with each patient. This part of your VSP is taking place over 2 days.
Please do not feel you need to read or watch all of the resources provided all the way through. Pick and choose what you need to complete the tasks and what further reading you need to do to consolidate your learning.

Document your learning and answers in a way that suits you and be prepared to feed information back to the group and your tutors in the coming days. We would recommend working systematically through the scenarios and taking as much time as you need over the two days.
