Q1 – I would choose option 2 because the initially prescribed dressing might not be suitable anymore and might have to be switched to an alternative one. I would record the wound assessment and also inform the GP.
Q2- I would choose option 2 because Farhan does have a level of understanding, however, I would ensure that his relatives or carers are also informed
Q3- I would choose option 2 because each individual’s needs are different, assessments need to be carried out upon admission and before discharge and also to ensure that the supported accommodation is able to care for the individual after discharge and if not what type of support would be needed. People should not have to stay in hospital once they are medically fit, however, the right support has to be in place in their accommodation and in the community in order to prevent unnecessary readmission.
