Allie has been given antibiotics for the diagnosis of a chest infection. Chest infections can exacerbate asthma symptoms due to the inflammation within the airways leading to low o2 sats, wheeziness, coughing and shortness of breathe.
2. What care must Allie take when using the brown inhaler? And why?
The care that Allie needs to take when using her brown inhaler is to ensure she follows the correct inhaler technique i.e using a spacer to ensure the inhaler puff has been fully inhaled therefore inhaling the correct amount of medication and increasing the effectiveness of the medicine.
3. How can Allie cut the risk of her pet triggering the Asthma?
Allie can reduce the risk of her pet triggering her asthma by regularly hoovering the house to reduce pet hair in the air, wash hands after touching the pet, ventilate the house as much as possible, keep pet out of bedrooms and use medication as directed.
