Q1 – I would choose option 1 as we need to take a patient centered approch and if it is possible arrange another call. She is very distressed, upset and worried which might make her feel worse not only phisically but mentally. It is our responsibility to make sure she sees her child as much as possible.
Q2 – I would choose option 2 because I would consider that she might just want privacy and cry but also would want to support her in this difficult time and offer help if i can
Q3 – I would choose option 2 as it is definitely not a good idea for sarah to self discharge and this option shows the most empathy. I would explain that it is in her and theos best interest that she stays and keeps contacting the other hospital remotely as in the end she will have to be strong for theo and she won’t be if she ignores her own health.
