Question 1
I would firstly discuss and explain the complexities involved in Sarah’s situation. i will explain to Sarah that I understand her plight but however, it might not be possible to have calls as regularly as she wants as it can be very busy in wards and also baby could be in distress, , sleeping, feeding at certain times. I will also explain that I will be calling the hospital where baby Theo is and discuss to see how we can organise this for her. i will contact the Hospital where baby Theo is and discuss with them about the possibility of facilitating video calls between Sarah and the baby, during the call I would also ask the hospital how they manage virtual calls then go back to Sarah with feedback.
Question 2
Seeing that the curtains are closed and Sarah is crying I would walk past and give her some space. i would check on her at some point to see how she is doing.
Question 3
Explain to Sarah why it’s important for her to remain in hospital to complete her treatment and emphasise she will be no good to er baby if her health is jeopardised.
